New book: Consonant Digraphs Join Parade

Just finished illustrating another Word Plays children's book for Benchmark Education.  This one is called Consonant Digraphs Join Parade. Basically a bunch of letters are late for the balloon parade and they have to think of new balloons to make before they can join the parade. Below are a couple of my favourite illustrations.

New book: At the Comma Store

A couple of weeks ago I just finished illustrating another Word Plays children's book for Benchmark Education. The main characters family go to their local comma store and they learn all about commas. There's also the awesome band the Comma-Dores playing. Get it :)

Water Buddies Slap Watch

A little while ago I created a bunch of cute characters for a range of low sugar flavoured water drinks called Water Buddies. Just today I received a package that included a slap on watch. These slap on bracelets were all the rage when I was a kid.

I just spent 15 minutes slapping on and off the watch. It's the simple things in life.

Milla and her Magical Crabsuit

Look who showed up at the Water Buddies HQ, its Milla and her Magical Crabsuit! How cool is that! This is the first character that I've designed that's been made into a mascot. I'd love to see Milla  driving the Water Buddies Mini around town.

Here's three of the Water Buddies bottles which are going to be available soon. Looking forward to trying the Kiwifruit and strawberry flavour.

Water Buddies Mini

Check out the new Water Buddies Mini. It's Awesome with a capital A and nice blue rims. I created the characters for a new range of healthy flavoured water. The characters should hopefully encourage kids to choose healthier drink options, instead of those sugary soft drinks.

Goodie Goodie Grape bottle

Here is one of the Water Buddies bottles hot off the production line. Funky bottle design and cute character design. They will be available in the next couple of months so I can't wait to try them.

Baby Love Infant Formula

Late last year I was working on designing some cow characters for a range of infant formula. Original blog post here.

So below are the three cow characters on the actual packaging. Apparently this New Zealand made formula can be found round the world. And as you may know New Zealand is world renowned for its diary products so I'm pretty sure all the little ankle biters will enjoy this formula.

Some recent work for a children’s book for a US publisher about a little girl, her grandfather and a flash new home.

Kidsline website live

Last month I work with Richard from Fusion Communications to design some new characters for the revamp of the Kidsline website. So we went along with 5 New Zealand native bird characters, which was well received by the kids. The website is now live and it was a big change on the older version.
Kidsline is New Zealand’s original telephone counselling service for all kids up to 14, so it was opportunity to help this worth while organisation: www.kidsline.co.nz

Sea Monster

Just a quick illustration of a giant sea monster about to sink a ship. Illustrated for a publishing client that produces a boating magazine.

Completed this illustration for That’s Life magazine’s Fast Fiction section. Deadlines are always tight for these types of jobs but it always helps when the client provides a clear and concise brief. End result; the illustration complete ahead of schedule and the client happy. Now looking forward to seeing it in print.
