A very cute bunny a short film called “Cookies & Bunny”. The very short film (approx 10 seconds) was originally part of the TAIS Bunny Jam screening 2011.

 

I Think I Have The Flu

 

These three characters I created are called Chicken, Pig and Dave, they are best friends and they work together in the same office building, misadventures normally follow. This very short film of 10 seconds was originally part of the TAIS Chicken Jam screening at the NFB Cinema in Toronto. It plays on the outbreaks of swine and bird flu.

Backgrounds for Toon Packs

Just been working on some backgrounds and also other characters and props for Toon Packs (www.toonpacks.com).

Toon Packs is a website that sell downloadable digital resources for animators, illustrators, designers & artists. At the moment the files are available in vector EPS and Flash formats.

Robot Versus Rabbit

Just working on an animation project which has the more traditional painted background and characters. Which is a nice break from all the normal vector work I seem do. In fact I have an idea for a short film I may do in this style. For the process of this particular animation just I scanned the cleaned up linework and painted them in Photoshop before importing them into Flash. The animation for this project it quite limited but it seems to work nicely.

AnimFX 2009 was fun.

Just came back from windy Wellington after attending the Animation Development Master Class hosted by Sander Schwartz and Rita Street at AnimFX 2009. The landing into Wellington was pretty interesting, with the strong northerly wind it felt like a roller caster and my stomach was in my throat half the time but the Air New Zealand pilots got us there in one piece so two thumbs up to them.

Hearing Sander and Rita was amazing, they were funny and were happy to share their experience and knowledge. Which is just wonderful to see their passion for animation. Incidentally I have discovered I've been approaching animation development and pitching the wrong way. So I'll be taking a different approach to that side of things now and hopefully achieve some better results than my previous attempts.

We also had the opportunity to see the first episode of Fanboy and Chum Chum. I've been following the development for this on Frederator for a while now so it's really go to see it come together as a final product. I really hope it comes down here on New Zealand tv. Fingers crossed.

Nuit Blanche this weekend

A little while ago I submitted a 10 second animation (see my animation here) for Chicken Jam at the TAIS Showcase. If you missed out on seeing the Chicken Jam at the TAIS Showcase? Well here’s your second chance!

 The Toronto Animated Image Society and The Rhino Bar are pleased to present an all night event as part of Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2009.

Short animated films, many by local Toronto artists, will be projected all night long from sundown to sunrise on the patio of the Rhino.

The mini-shows are arriving..very soon

Just been working on a short 10 second short film for TAIS's (Toronto Animated Image Society) Chicken Jam and therefore finally bringing my mini-shows to the internet. This wasn't planned to be my first minishow to be released but because it is so short and the deadline is looming it looks like this one will be out first. So hopefully by the end of this week it will be finished, if everything goes to plan.

I can't believe it's animation

Just came across an interesting site called Xtranormal.com. You can make you own animations with different characters, backgrounds and your own dialogue. The possibilities for crappy animation is limitless, nice!

I think our jobs will be safe but it is an interesting site to play around with.
